Presently engaged in a project entitled” Safavid –Mughal Coins and Indo-Persian Trade. Ten research papers have been published in reputed journals. Published a book entitled The Bengal Sultanate: Politics, Economy and Coins, (A.D 1205-1576), Manohar, New Delhi, 2003.
Preparing a catalogue of Indian sultanate coins preserved in Th Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (U.K.)
Working on Mughal-Safavid coins and Indo-Persian Trade

Awards
Awarded gold medal on obtaining top position in M.A.
Awarded Charles Wallace (India) Trust Fellowship in 2000 for preparing a catalogue of coins of the Indian sultanates      preserved in the Fitz William Museum, Cambridge with a detailed monetary history.

A book entitled "The Sultanate of Bengal : Politics, Economy and Coins (AD-1205-1576)" is in Press and to be out      shortly
Supervising two research students leading to the award of Ph.D. degree
